How fees work

Most families ask about insurance first, so that is where we start.

  • Insurance we work with

We are in network with some PPO dental plans and out of network with others. Call or send a request with your plan's name and we will tell you which before the visit. Children covered by Medicaid or CHIP are welcome; give us the plan's name so we can confirm it.

    • In network with some PPO plans

    • Out of network with others, and we file the claim

    • Medicaid and CHIP: yes, for children

  • If you pay yourself

If you pay without insurance, you pay at the visit. We give you the fee for each step in writing before treatment starts, so you can decide at home. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

    • Pay at the visit

    • Fees in writing, before treatment

    • Third-party financing, set by the lender

  • Receipts for reimbursement

After each visit we give you an itemized receipt. If your plan pays you back for out-of-network care, send it in; the plan decides what it covers.

    • Itemized, every visit

    • Codes for each step on request

  • An estimate in advance

You can ask for a written estimate before any treatment. If you are paying without insurance, we give you a written estimate in advance, when you schedule or whenever you ask. It lists the visit, each step we expect and the fee for each.

    • Written, before treatment

    • Each step and its fee

    • One estimate per child

  • Checking your benefits

We check your child's dental benefits before the first visit when you give us the plan's name and the member details by phone, never in the contact form. We tell you what the plan lists for the visit; the plan makes the final decision when it pays.

    • We call the plan before the visit

    • Member details by phone only

  • What the first visit includes

About 45 minutes for one child: a talk with you, a gentle look at the teeth, cleaning if the dentist thinks it's time, and a written plan. Bring brothers and sisters; we can book them one after another. Health history goes on our private patient portal, not by email or in the contact form.

    • About 45 minutes for each child

    • Back-to-back times for siblings

    • Health history on the portal
